  • Okay folks, I only have two things to say about this highly rated joint... Chicken Waffle! It is indeed as fabulous as the Yelpers say it is! The Waffle was a perfectly prepared golden brown as was its co-star chicken filet, which was lightly battered, tender and delicious. It came with a smattering of stone ground grits that were nothing special; however, it was obvious from the moment my order arrived, that my wife was suffering from what we like to call "food envy." Her quiche was also tasty and was served with a decent baby greens salad and fresh fruit but unfortunately it paled in comparison with my order. I knew from experience this would only mean one thing: We would be sharing this time around and the next time we would both be ordering chicken waffles. Service provided by Mel (a young lady) was impeccable and the place appeared clean in spite of its (yikes!) 87 sanitary score, which we, uncharacteristically, did not see until on our way out. We will check that closely before dining there again, which we hope to do. That does however ding my overall score, not so much though, that it will prevent me from labeling it a Gotta Try.
