Tiabi is located in the heart of Las Vegas on Maryland and flamingo in the target shopping mall. I like to support independent coffee shops, Tiabi is unique, and they have a variety of coffee flavors and a very large variety of waffles. I ordered the Churro-mon in which was a waffle with cinnamon sugar, I asked for the non-vegan waffle and whip cream on the top. I also ordered the lavender latte hot with almond milk. I had an enjoyable experience the waffle and the coffee were good. The place is clean and the staff is warm and friendly. My only issue was the location. I went early Sunday Morning around 830. There are some homeless men in the area but this part of Vegas has not gone through the revitalization that Freemont East has enjoyed yet, I do like the fact that Tiabi is located there, the area needs businesses like Tiabi to revitalize the area. I would like to support this local business, but I won't return. I was very uncomfortable with the homeless men in front of the shop. There was even a homeless man inside trying to make a purchase with change, he didn't have enough money and went back and forth with the cashier half the time I was there. I wanted to make sure I left the restaurant before Him so that I could get to my car. While He was talking to the cashier I quickly grabbed my purse and went to the door to leave, the homeless man was right behind me. Luckily He went the opposite way from where I was going. I was a little scared by this. I went to my car and locked my door. I noticed the homeless man that I saw inside was near the shop yelling and cursing at an invisible person. Also noticed that there was another homeless man in sitting in the parking lot singing very loudly to himself. Unfortunately I won't be back unless I go with a group. The neighborhood is too sketchy.
