| - I try to resist harsh reviews, I'm not a serial negative review writer, but from this experience...I had no choice. I arrived for a walk in appointment (acrylic fill with a repair) and was guided to a male technician. He asked me repeatedly (repeatedly) if I wanted gel...and I politely declined...even shaking his head and saying "oooh, gel is much better, you should really...). I always remain firm as I choose acrylic for nails and gel for my pedi. I then told him that I like my nails short...he proceeded to clip one nail down to the absolute skin, smugly asking "like this"?? (which to his surprise), I actually did not mind - I thought it was an extreme cut however, if you're asking your client whether it's short enough (well, had no choice at this point, did I?) Moving forward, when it was time to pay, I gave him my CC and he returned with the receipt including the $5 tip that he took the liberty to add, without asking me. I made a firm mention and told him I was planning to tip $5 (my standard), though he should have asked me first. He became flustered and insisted he did, which was impossible because I was having a full-on conversation with another nail tech when he took my card. I am accustomed to writing the tip amount in after the CC has been processed. After confronting him...he proceeded to sulk and paint my nails in the manner that a 3-year-old wearing a blindfold, on a rollercoaster would. I was so shocked at the quality of the outcome I asked "are you really sending me out like this"? He answered "Yes"...even the nearby technicians agreed, it looked heinous (we exchanged looks and one came over to inspect). I cannot tolerate foolishness out of spite...especially when I am paying for a routine service. I jumped up and insisted to speak with the manager, but another tech took over and repainted my nails completely. I had been going to this salon for years (sporadically) on and off and overall the staff (especially Kitty, Helena and Mina) have been lovely. The manager who sat at the front of the shop never turned around and I'm certain that she heard the commotion. I will not return.
