| - I absolutely love Fish Street! I first came here last summer looking for a good lobster roll fix and definitely got what I wanted. Then, I saw someone order fish and chips which looked so good that I made a mental note to try it on my next visit. When I came back, I had the fish and chips and oh boy-- was it THE BEST fish and chips I ever had! The haddock was fresh and the batter slightly crisp and not greasy at all. Chips and salad were okay, and the tartar sauce was sensational! Then on, I tried the fish tacos and calamari with salad which are both wonderful as well. Just recently I tried the calamari po boy and instantly loved it. Calamari was lightly breaded and tasty with a delightful mix of bell peppers, corn, greens, pesto spread, and just a tiny bit of spicy zing. It's a huge, potentially messy sandwich and a bit of a challenge to eat, but believe me it's worth all the trouble. The place is not a full restaurant where you can hang out or chitchat with friends, but there are a few bar-style seats where you can enjoy a downright good meal. It's also a market so you can buy raw fish and seafood as well. The staff are warm and friendly, and sincerely make sure that you're enjoying everything. I live in the west end, so when I'm in the area I usually have lunch then come back to get take away dinner for me and my husband. I don't mind making the trip here, but I sure wish I lived nearer!
