| - If I could give a half star, I would. 3.5 seems right for this place.
Service was good, and prices were pretty comparable to the Mt. Lebanon location. Some menu items differed, and there were two new rolls for us that we tried and liked. However, in general, it wasn't as good. I was excited to potentially get my expected quality and flavors at Little Tokyo Bistro, but I was somewhat left wanting. The shrimp tempura was mostly batter, and was overdone. Unfortunately, most of my choices had shrimp tempura inside the rolls, so I got that over cooked batter across the board. Also, the pieces of sushi themselves were too big. We had to cut them in half to get them to fit in our mouths without spewing it out onto the table as we chewed, and at that point, why bother? It's sushi -- you're not supposed to have to cut it in half. The salad was just ok. Dressing was super similar, but not the same; and the lettuce and veggies may not have been super fresh.
The restaurant is cute, and clean. Everyone was very nice, and the sushi chefs thanked us for dining with them. It's just unfortunate that it wasn't amazing. It was just good. Wouldn't travel all the way to the South Side just for that.
