My trip to Champaign was good but I had a few incidents when I arrived at the hotel where I was booked for four nights. There was a huge mix up with the original room that was assigned to me under my reservations. The hotel front-desk staff had already assigned another guest to my room; whom was already occupying the room when I entered it. That was a major frustrating issue and the hotel gave a simple apology. A lot of what if's went through my head. The staff at the front desk really needs to pay attention when their issuing out room key cards. The staff should have knowledge of what rooms have already been assigned to other guest. Several issues with the outside door entry caused more frustration due to not working but was later resolved (all this happened on day one). After that major hump, I had no issues with my stay. However, I will point out this; there were spider webs in the ceiling of my room. I noticed this on day two of my stay. I did not tell anyone at the time but hopefully management will take this review serious and check all the rooms and remove any that are present for future guest not to see. The hot breakfasts were a highlight. The hotel really gives a great variety of hot and cold items. There was a pool and it was open, but I did not partake with any swimming. Housekeeping was awesome -no complaints there. I've stayed at this hotel many times over the years and this was the first time I had any issues to report.
