  • This is the only Mongolian restaurant I've tried, and I enjoy it enough. I always end up with a huge amount of leftovers, after observing some regulars fill their bowls and taking some cues from them. You need to pound the meat down to fill the bowl as it shrinks and comes in these obnoxious curls that take up valuable bowl space. No worries, they put out a bunch of wax paper since it is expected you will do this. They recently added new spices to the meat section which is a nice new addition. Then you add your vegetables, followed by the two types of noodles - wheat and rice. I like to mix them both in my bowl as they each have different but good flavor. Don't be afraid to pile the noodles high! At the end are the various sauces and a chalkboard overhead gives you suggested recipes. Often times there are employees at the end there to help you tailor your flavors, but after a few goes at it you get the hang of it. Watching them cook on those superheated flat tops, moving the food around with long chopsticks is fun, and the food always comes off steaming hot. All entrees come with soda, soup, and rice, and dinner entrees come with soft serve ice cream. To-go containers for leftovers are $0.50 extra, but you can order takeout for the regular price and not pay for the containers. If you order takeout, you still can get soda, soup and rice for no extra fee. My wife, who has experienced more upscale Mongolian restaurants, was a bit disappointed by YC's. If you've had other Mongolian this might not live up to your expectations, but I don't know better so I enjoy it. I was addicted at first, but after a few visits I slowed down to an occasional visit.
