| - We had been looking forward to checking this place out ever since it opened but kept wondering why it was always so empty. NOW we know why. Finally stopped in tonight, ready to enjoy some cocktails, hoping Stumptown Station would become our regular cocktail bar. We live nearby and really enjoy good cocktails.
We walked into the bar, full with a mere seven patrons, and received an awkward hello at the door. We thought it was a "members only" place and lingered at the door, ready to sign up for a membership or whatnot, but the awkward hello was all we got. We sat down at a table--most were empty--and waited for service. And waited. And not only was there no service, there wasn't even an acknowledgement of us sitting there or a gesture or something to inform us how to go about getting drinks. Instead, the two people working the bar were chatting with a couple people sitting at the bar. They weren't just making drinks or serving other customers--they were chit chatting. And a third employee was smoking outside. To top it off, my girlfriend made a comment about how cool the floors looked. I checked them out and realized they were actually quite dirty. For a place that is as empty as this place always is, dirty floors are especially alarming.
We hoped to find our new local cocktail bar. Instead, after waiting ten minutes for service, we walked on out without any drinks, never to return.
