This is the "Gucci of the Chinese bakeries" as their goods are more refined than other places with prices to match. Pictured is the Croissant Brule (~$4) which tastes exactly what it sounds like. The core is a fluffy round croissant, but the outer layer is a crispy, flaky sweet and buttery exterior. Also tried the very interesting-looking blacked out Mentaiko Mille Feuille Croissant ($6). The ingredients are mentaiko (spicy pollack roe) sauce, butter croissant, and parsley. Biting into this tastes like you're crushing through a thousand super thin layers and then your tongue gets a whiff of that creamy fishy sauce. Great tasting but perhaps a little too on the dry side for me. The ham and cheese bun is probably my fav and the one I've got multiple times. The size is pretty big (like the size of two regular buns stretched out and joined together). Always very fresh with the perfect proportion of ham, to cheese, to sweet onion. I've also been to the North York location which has a set-up similar to more traditional Chinese bakeries where you get a tray and tongs and get what you want from the display cases. For this in-mall location, there's one huge display case and you tell the servers what you want. They also seem to have less variety than the North York location. Overall, a great place to treat yo self and feel fancy. Pro tip: park near the TD bank toward the southeast end of the mall to find the closest mall entrance to the bakery. And oh yeah, this is co-branded with a Chatime for some boba action if you so please.
