  • First time I went to Veld. Wanted to try a different festival as I've been going to DD the past couple years. The line up of DJs was amazing! But, unfortunately it wasn't great otherwise. The line ups for will call and purchase of wristbands were so disorganized, it took a friend over 2 hours to finally get into the festival! They only had one area for the washrooms and it was a complete madhouse going in or out. It seemed like they didn't have enough food trucks to accommodate the amount of people there because even the lines for that was just ridiculous. Same story for alcohol purchases. There were just lines and people everywhere. I know I shouldn't be complaining because it's a festival but I just assumed it would have been organized better. Also, I was really excited to see Deadmau5 and was expecting an awesome close for Saturday. It was alright, more chill out music than beats. He also ended his whole set with chill music, no fireworks or anything. He finished 15 minutes early so alot of people were just left standing there expecting him to come back and do an encore and finish with a bang. But nope, it was just a disappointing empty feeling. Similar to the feeling of opening up a box of mixed bakery pastries and having it be empty. Or thinking a person you're crushing on likes you but they're actually only interested in your friend or something. I can't think of anymore examples but you get the gist of it. I think the only way I'll go back to Veld was because I got free wristbands but even then I'd still have to consider it...
