| - I didn't know anything at all about Peruvian food, but my sense of adventure guided me through the door. The term "hole-in-the-wall" accurately describes this place, as it's in a dusty little strip mall that you'd drive past and never pay attention to. The interior is brightly painted and clean, but nothing special, aside from a cool mural on the wall. Soccer was playing on all the TVs, and the cooks in the back were cheering loudly. I almost felt like I was in Peru.
The food is a bit pricier than I expected. The appetizers average at $8 each, and the entrees about $15 or so. The Pollo a la Brasa, "made of 12 spices based on an ancient Kankacho Andino recipe", sounded delicious so I went for it. At $10.95, a whole rotisserie chicken including choice of two sides (french fries, rice, beans or salad) and some sauces on the side was a pretty good deal. I really enjoyed the beans...savory and porky in flavor...and the plain looking rice was perfectly cooked and yummy. Overall it was a great meal, so I'll be back to try something new.
