  • CAUTION! I wish there was a way to give negative stars. I booked a room through Expedia for my husband and I. Unfortunately, I didn't realize we had other things scheduled for that time. I called within 5 minutes of booking the room to advise The Boulders of my error. I was told that I could not cancel because all cancellations need to take place 7 days before check in. I explained the situation and pointed out that it would impossible to cancel 7 days before check in because I booked the room 5 days before our stay. Boulders blamed Expedia. I spent 2 hours on the phone with Expedia and learned that Boulder's staff had lied to me. The woman from Expedia went to bat for me and made a conference call to the hotel. Expedia explained that because I opted to pay at the resort it's policy did not apply. The "manager" on Boulder's reservation line repeatedly lied and kept insisting that it was Expedia's policy that created the problem- despite the fact that an Expedia rep was on the call! At the end of the day, Expedia promised to refund the $400 Boulders took from. Absolutely disgraceful customer service. Lying thieves. We have stayed at several fine resorts in the Valley. We will NEVER stay at The Boulders and we will be sure to caution those considering a stay there to opt for another resort. Luckily, our area is full of them. So ridiculous that they would lose a customer over something like this. Update- Management claims to be looking into this. There's nothing to look into. I had a lengthy discussion with Britney, the manager. According to her, there was nothing she could do about it and it was the hotel's policy. She claimed that their reservation policy was set in stone and there was nothing she could do other than to move my reservations to another time. Why would I do that? They lied to me repeatedly. They blamed Expedia for the policy, even while Expedia was on the phone with them stating it was not their policy. My review stands. Stay away from this place.
