| - This was probably my fifth time here as I live nearby. For starters, I would like to state that this is a very attractive venue that has a separate room for private parties. In addition, out door patio seating is available as well. Also, they have an amazing specialty cocktail menu with a talented staff that prepares them consistently well. However, I was let down on my recent visit. My wife and I came by for a late lunch and the first thing we noticed is that their prices have gone up quite a bit. My wife started by ordering a "House Bloody Mary" - $8.00. For lunch, I ordered a "Family Favorites," Gumbo - $12.29. The color, (Dark brown) and consistency of this dish was not very appetizing to me. It came in a shallow soup bowl with a scoop of white rice in the center. I was expecting more of a stew and it was the consistency of soup. Flavor was ok. I would not order this item again and do not recommend it. My wife ordered a "House Specialties," Shrimp Charlotte - $15.99. This dish came with medium size sautéed shrimp and mushrooms over angel hair pasta in a light broth. She enjoyed this dish and would order this item again. Our meal came with their specialty bread and was quite good. Bottom line for me, there was a lack of "bank for the buck" considering that $47 was spent, (including tax and tip) for lunch for two on a $8 well Bloody Mary, $12.29 for a bowl soup and $15.99 for a simple shrimp and pasta dish.
