| - I've been to several auto shows and I love cars. I think this was a terrible auto show. Granted, I went on a Sunday, presumably a busy time. However, there's no excuse for the level of crowding and lack of organization I witnessed at this event.
I am not particularly claustrophobic, but this event was an unenjoyable nightmare of waiting in lines and trying to figure out where to go. It took literally fifteen minutes to get in and many minutes to go up or down levels. I waited ten minutes in line to go up one level at one point, and another escalator's line was much longer so I gave up and just left. It was often difficult to figure out how to get where I wanted to go, which made the overcrowded conditions even more frustrating. If you're going to shunt packed crowds around endless corridors and multiple buildings, you must have more maps and signage. If there were even a false fire alarm, let alone a real life-threatening emergency, I have no doubt the Canadian International AutoShow would become a slaughterhouse.
Needless to say, it was difficult to learn anything about the cars on display at the AutoShow. I will not attend this event again unless I can be assured that it's changed so that it is at least safe, if not enjoyable. I would happily pay more for a weekend ticket or be forced to pick a day to attend if that's what it takes to make the event better.
