Let's get one thing clear: I'm not giving this restaurant a one star review for the food. All four of us really enjoyed our dishes and I do highly recommend the steak and ale pie (which is what I ordered).
Now that that's out of the way, here's the main reason for my one star review: THEY MADE MY WIFE CRY.
Why? Because they served her an alcoholic drink when she ordered a virgin one. While this doesn't sound like a big deal, it is. She's pregnant. She was crying, my in-laws (who didn't yet know and had to find out his way) were confused, and I was not happy. The issue lies in that there is a drink on the non-alcoholic menu that has the same name as one on the alcoholic menu. The confusion was almost guaranteed. While we couldn't really taste the booze (it was a pretty weak fru-fru drink), we noticed on the bill.
This mistake was the feather on the cap because even getting into the restaurant was a pain. We had 6pm reservations, but didn't get seated until almost 6:30. That, too, was an issue because we had show tickets for 7:30pm. To top it off, the incompetent hostess initially gave us a table for two when there was four people in our party.
Despite how good the food was, we'll never be back and probably won't patronize any of Ramsay's other establishments based upon the mistakes that were made at the Pub & Grill.
