| - ROCK-SOLID FOUR STARS
The standouts:
They held our reservation (we called, stuck in traffic) an extra 20 minutes even though the place was packed. And when I say packed, I am not kidding.
Their signature pineapple-infused vodka. Good doesn't begin to describe this cocktail.
The bread. Yes, it's bread. But it is everything bread should be. And more.
Crab cake appetizer. Best I've ever had without a breeze off the Atlantic blowing gently in my face.
We were wished a happy anniversary and served without charge the lemon cake they're known for.
The steaks. Very, very good. Perfect, in fact.
No children. Not a one.
The minor irritations:
We were seated right next to the kitchen. I know, I know, SOMEONE has to sit there. But Liz-the-bitch doesn't LIKE sitting next to the kitchen.
We were rushed. No 'feeling rushed' about it. We. Were. Rushed.
We had to flag down our server and ask for after-dinner coffee. WE HAD TO ASK FOR AFTER-DINNER COFFEE. Huge fail.
That lemon cake? Good, but you know, maybe we wanted to peruse the dessert menu and perhaps make an additional choice. They lose a Liz-Star(TM) on that one. I take my dessert very seriously.
Conclusion:
Good steakhouse. Very good, actually. The food was fabulous. The minor irritations listed above had everything to do with the fact that it was very crowded. On a Thursday, by the way. A restaurant with their reputation and their prices can and should do better regardless of how busy they are.
