| - This is an old, exceptionally well maintained, high end hotel. I check that it is rated 4 stars by CAA (just want to mention some official rating for reference). Before it is Hilton, it was Embassy Suites.
The lobby is beautiful. There is a marble wall along the hallway, and if you look closely, you will see that not only it is real marble, it is cut out from the same piece of gigantic rock, layer by layer, like a CAT scan. The original builder of the hotel spent a small fortune on this wall. There are many chandeliers around the hotel. I know people will notice that this is an older hotel; but it doesn't write off the luxurious decorations, in my opinion.
I stayed in an accessibility hotel room, meaning the room has features suitable for people with mobility problems. The bathroom is wheelchair friendly, so it is really big and one can turn a wheelchair around inside. There is no bath tub; there is a chair mounted on wall for one to take a shower sitting down. There is a handrail next to the shower chair to assist one to move from wheelchair or crutches to the chair.
The hallway from door through sitting area to bedroom is in a straight line and is wide enough for a wheelchair to pass through.
I know the room and the food here are expensive. This is not the point of my review. I want to praise Hilton to even have an accessibility room. They definitely spent some effort and *money* to properly outfit this room. Kudo! Someone who uses crutches, wheelchair, walker or a walking stick will appreciate the bathroom beyond the able bodies can imagine.
