  • Cleanliness: 4.5/5 Features/Amenities: 4/5 Location: 5/5 Service: 4/5 I have heard that One King West recently renovated their rooms this year so my photos will be out of date. However, the layout of the rooms will probably help. Tower Deluxe Suite Because One King West is right in the heart of downtown Toronto, sometimes it can be tricky to navigate with your car. It definitely makes driving easier with GPS, with so many one-way streets, and when you finally arrive, you are greeted by the Bellman who will take care of your luggages and your car. When you arrive to your room, the TV welcomes you and tells you more about the hotel. I turned it off shortly after to save electricity, but I really liked having the TV on when we arrived because of the nice music it was playing. One of the things I like the most about One King West is their kitchenettes. They are virtually in every type of suite/room in the hotel I believe, and they come fully furnished with dishes, utensils, and more. There is either a microwave, stove top or both, depending on the type of room you get, but in the Tower Deluxe Room there were both. There was also a dishwasher as well which would be convenient if you didn't want to do the dishes. Because One King West is available for extended stays (hence the name Hotel & Residences), the kitchenettes were probably made readily available. As any other hotel room would have it, there was a small safe, an iron with ironing board, and a small desk at the back of the room in case you needed to get some work done. There was also a lounge sofa. What I don't like so much about One King West is their small bathrooms in the suites. I like having space in my bathrooms, so One King West sort of lacks in that area. The hotel building is historic, so I understand why the bathrooms aren't very large. If spacious bathrooms are very important to you, One King West may require reconsideration, unless you're reserving one of the more prestige suites. Everything in the bathroom was fine, such as the water pressure, the hot water, toilet flushing, etc. I noticed a difference in the amenities though. Before when I stayed at the Historic Studio Suite at One King West back in 2014, the amenities were from Bath & Body Works. Now, or in 2015, they were by H2O+. One Bedroom Suite The One Bedroom Suite was in the Historic Building of the hotel, so we didn't have a very good view outside our windows as we were face to face with the building next to us. What I didn't like about the bedroom suite was the darkness. There wasn't enough light at all! No natural light due to no open windows, and even then, there was a building blocking it anyways. The one or two stands provided light, but it wasn't enough light to have the suite really bright. The dark furniture didn't help either. I believe I had the bathroom lights on almost 24/7 to make the suite brighter. The bathroom was exactly the same as the Tower Deluxe Suite. I was pretty disappointed by this, because I expected an upgraded room, the One Bedroom Suite to have more space in the bathroom. I suppose it's because of the historic-ness of the building, but the bathroom was still quite small for me. Everything worked fine though. Overall, the One Bedroom Suite was okay. If we had been given the same suite in the Tower vs. the Historic building, I think I would've been more satisfied. Next time, I'll be making sure that my room is in the Tower building! Being right in the heart of downtown Toronto, the location of One King West can't be any better. It is close to everything - the shopping district, the Entertainment district, the Distillery district, Union Station, Harbourfront, the subway station, and so much more! The hotel has so much history and character, including a real historic bank vault in the basement! Whether you're a tourist or on a business trip, One King West definitely is a great fit. It definitely doesn't have the largest swimming pool nor the biggest bathrooms, but the kitchenettes are a plus, and the beds were so heavenly every time I stayed with One King West. Service was always great during our stays at One King West and it was never a problem asking for help. I highly recommend One King West if you need a hotel in Toronto!
