| - I love all things French, so when I discovered I was cat-sitting across the street from two French bakeries I was quite excited. I've actually been wanting to try Thobors for a while now, but it's quite far from my usual area. This was the perfect opportunity!
I went for breakfast my first day and walking in reminded me of the patisseries in France, although the prices were definitely a little higher. I picked out a bacon quiche and a raisin pinwheel and it came to just under $8.
I took them to go and started to warm up the quiche. I had intended the pinwheel to be a dessert of sorts, but I was too hungry to wait. My first bite was also my last. It tasted dry, stale, and it wasn't even sweet. I was very disappointed.
The quiche was individual sized, and there were quite a few options in the shop that would have been perfect for lunch. But I felt the bacon would be most appropriate for breakfast. I was very happy that the quiche was miles better than the pastry. In fact, I was half tempted to go get a second! But I don't think it was quite good enough to make up for it.
All in all, a little pricey, and certain things are very tasty. I hope that my pinwheel was an aberration, and I'd be curious to try them again for some of their sweets.
