Ok. I've lived here since June 2015. Here is a nice clear list of the good and bad of living here.
The Good:
1. You can't beat the location and the views of some of the units. Amazing. If you are along the golf course on a 2nd or 3rd floor you will see coyotes on the golf course, animals, and even the fire works that the tpc does throughout the summer.
2. The different layouts are actually very cool. There are a bunch to choose from and the square footage is very generous. Also the appliances and kitchen and bathroom don't feel miniature if you are in a 1-2 bedroom. They have more a condo feel. The prices are also not too bad and the upgrades are nicer than most "upgraded" apartments. There are also nice fireplaces in some of them.
3. The neighbors are mostly awesome. I have made a bunch of friends and I love getting to know the transitions people are in and why they are here. For the most part, people are talkative and friendly.
4. The staff is helpful when you need something and the maintenance is always on top of things and they try to enforce people having a clean balcony or patio so the community can keep a scottsdale look and feel.
The Bad:
1. Parking sucks. This is a huge problem. We transferred from a 2 car garage apartment to a 1 car garage apartment and it is almost impossible to get an SUV in the 1 car garage so you have to search for a spot and walk. Inconvenient if you have kids to unload.
2. The buildings are old, but don't seems to cost a lot to heat or cool. There is however problems non stop with repairs throughout the community and the maintenance seems understaffed. Seems like AC units and apartments flooding is a constant issue.
3. The main pool area is nice but it is always over crowded because there are corporate renters all the time. There is another pool but it has old furniture and needs to be updated asap so people will use it. There are quite a few outdoor spaces that are blank that would be nice if they added more loungers, chairs, fire pits etc. there are over 300 units here so they need to do a better job at community spaces so everyone isn't at 1 main area.
4. Your car will be towed if you are not in a designated spot. We had it happen twice and it sucked and 1 time we were in our driveway but we're sticking out on the pavement by a foot.
