| - Hidden gem. Who would-a-thought?
Great glass pieces. I tiptoed around vases, ornaments, as well as a couple Chihuly pieces. Yes, I admit, i did experience visions of grandeur as I dreamed of purchasing my own Chihuly-and actually, for 2 seconds, considered plunking my AMEX down for one. As I inched closer, eyeing the colors in the glass, I slightly slipped on the wet concrete floor- my high heeled boots failing once again in the traction arena (Seriously, life is ABOUT looking HOT, NOT COMFORT OR SAFETY- Why wear snow boots in 4 inches of snow and ice when you have fantastic knee high leather boots with 3 inch heels that also keep your footsies dry?). At this point in time, I had ANXIETY ATTACK evoking visions of having to PURCHASE the ENTIRE WALL OF GLASS due to breakage...AND I quietly started to hyperventilate. Thank GOD some air got into my oxygen starved brain and reality returned. I scampered away from the breakable objects- my bank account sent me a heartfelt CONGRATULATIONS the next day.
I found myself across the store, glanced guiltily around to make sure no one saw my moments of weakness, panic, utter grace, and started browsing through the purses. Cause ya all know I can always use another purse! They had some unique purses too! Handmade, multiple fabric pieces. Luckily, none were approaching suitcase size, which as you may also know, is about the only size I can function with. (WELL, what do you expect, with sunglasses as big as mine,2 cell phones, my wallet, essentials, and 1/2 of the prescription narcotic stock found in CVS, really, a purse that big is NON NEGOTIABLE).
I also managed to resist the jewelery. They had some shiny silver pieces with great texture. Feeling like a bird attracted to shiny objects, I hovered over the case, drooled for a bit -then raced to look at the children's books.
Somehow, I managed to make it out of the store without brandishing my AMEX, but... I am not making any promises about future visits...
