 | - Many people have already said what I would about the new management at Altitude 1675. The rudeness, apathy and lack of competence has turned living here from a great experience to a relocation countdown.
I do have a few things to add. I haven't experienced a lag in response to a maintenance request. I had just the opposite. Maintenance entered my apartment without notice or permission. The maintenance request that I put in very specifically said that they did not have permission to enter and they did anyway. No apology from the office, just a shrug and "sometimes the guys don't read the work order" comment. Since the weather has started warming up I've noticed ants in my apartment. I can't figure out where they are coming from, but since I'm paying extra on my ConService bill for pest control, I would expect this to include keeping ant colonies away from the building. After reading all the other reviews, I'm hesitant to put in a service request. I will add that the lights in the west stairwell have been out on the second floor for about 3 weeks. Both pedestrian gates on the property are broken and have been for months. There is someone on the 3rd floor who doesn't put their trash down the chute. Earlier this week the whole floor reeked when I left for work at 6am and it was worse when I got home about 7pm that night. Management can't do much about tenant habits, but they should be walking the property daily looking for issues that reduce the quality of life in the community and proactively fixing anything they find.
If you move in here, expect to pay to receive packages. They switched to a locker system, which is fine since they waived the initial fee, but if you signed up too late, it's an annual fee. I also did not receive the notice on how to sign up for the package service and when I asked the girl in the office about how to sign up she got really snotty with me. Communication from Conam has been atrocious!!! That being said, at least I no longer have to argue with the office girls that I have packages, which they don't log in like everywhere else I have lived, only to have to go back into the storage room and point to the package that clearly has my name and apartment number on it.
The new management seems to be reducing amenities while adding fees for what should otherwise be included, especially considering how much we pay to live here. A notice was sent out last week that the clubhouse (you know, the one the property manager used to throw a raging party not long ago) would no longer be available outside of office hours. They also now charge $75 an hour to reserve it. This is the first apartment I've ever lived in where I have to pay to use the clubhouse. Usually, it's just a deposit that you get back if you clean up after your event.
Another thing that has changed is the social events. Alliance held 1 or 2 social events a month. These events were usually along the lines of a cocktail party with a raffle or some fun activities. Now it's coffee and donuts during the week when most people are at work. I guess since I'm not staying there is no longer a point in meeting my neighbors, which is a bummer because I liked the sense of community this place had when I first moved in.
The property itself is very nice and I love my apartment. I haven't experienced the same noise issues as others, but that could be the location of my unit. My next door neighbor was a heavy pot smoker, but I could only smell it in the hallway. I think he moved out. I don't really hear the people above me any more than would be expected. The noise from the construction next door is unfortunate, but can't be helped until it's done.
I was really happy here the first few months when the property was managed by Alliance. Since Conam took over, I dread going to the office for any reason. I won't say that things can't get any worse, we all know that they can.
