  • Worst dental experience in my nearly 50 years of going to the dentist. Does not listen to your concerns and will take no action to deal with an issue you have. Acts like he has no idea how to solve dental problems (that he created). I went in for a specific complaint which was ignored and he told me instead that I needed a crown on a tooth on the opposite side of where I was experiencing the problem. He said he "sees a crack" even though I had no trouble with the tooth he wanted to crown. It is now a year later and I'm still dealing with the mess/pain he created. I agreed to let him put a crown on a tooth I was not having problems with which was a huge mistake as he messed up the tooth and I've been fighting pain in it for a year now. About 10 minutes into drilling on the tooth for the crown he says "I want you to know that you may need a root canal before we can put the crown on". Why the hell didn't he tell me this when he was trying to sell me on crowning a tooth that I wasn't having trouble with? I would have never agreed to this had he gave me this information before hand. I've now had two root canals, two crowns (on the same tooth which had no problem before he started working on it) and I'm still in pain. My insurance refuses to pay anymore on this tooth and I've went into his office over and over to have Dr. Kim solve the problem and all he will do is take another x-ray (I bet I've had 40 x-rays in a year now) and send me home saying "give it time". He's never offered anything for the pain and shows no concern at all to address the problem. Finally I went in as an emergency because I was in so much pain in the tooth he worked on and got upset with him because I was in so much pain and he wouldn't do anything. After trying to send me out of his office again without doing anything I demanded he do something and all he would do is write me a referral to go see someone else. The new doctor was very concerned with the pain I was in and did everything in his power to get me out of pain. The new doctor called the next two days to check on me and see if my pain was being managed and getting better. I've never heard from Dr. Kim's office because they have never done anything to address the pain other than send me out of the office. I've actually had to go to another dentist now to address the pain and the issue because Dr. Kim is not in the least bit concerned about getting me out of pain. Of course I'm having to pay for everything out of pocket with the new dentist because Dr. Kim has blown through all my insurance benefits. I'm into the next benefit year and the insurance still won't pay for anymore work on this tooth. Due to not being able to use the side of my mouth that is in pain I've been chewing for a year on only one side of my mouth. This has now resulted in my jaw/bite getting messed up and not lining up correctly which I'll now have to pay someone to resolve. I decided enough is enough and have sought help elsewhere and my new doctor has a plan to fix the mess created by Dr. Kim. Dr. Kim has done nothing other than say "give it time" and send me home. I also had to demand that they quit taking new x rays as I've had more x rays in one year at this place then I've had in the entire rest of my life. Even the dental assistant that worked with me on several of the occasions I was in there was apologizing profusely that the Dr. wouldn't do anything for me. She said "I hate to send you out of here again in so much pain, I'm really sorry". I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.
