I would love to give this place more than just 2 stars but unfortunately I cannot. The main complaints are not geared toward the kind people that work at the Inn but rather to the owner of said establishment. The company you represent and the people you employ will unfortunately get the brunt of the complaints had you done your job properly. They look bad but the responsibility is on you.
If I am going to remodel an old run-down inn and modernize it THE FIRST thing above making it "look modern" is to tackle issues that might not be easily seen. LIKE PLUMBING.
I know construction and this place trying to pass for anything more than a 2 star inn is a joke to say the least.
How many people (like myself) travel loaded with luggage and small kids-- I can count with both hands the times hotels/inns failed to advertise that there is NO ELEVATOR. Why don't they just tell you: Hey there, please be aware that you are recommended to skip the gym during your stay since you have to load up and carry your stuff up two flights of stairs and then struggle to open doors after you bring up your luggage. (not ALL Doors and flooring were fully renovated).
The stench of old cigarette smoke caked into the walls is overwhelming. Its sad that they choose to mask the smell thinking people would just be okay with it. DRYWALLING would've been key for these guys.
My last issue is the plumbing! When you brush your teeth the water will fill the tub and you'll be forced to stare at that yucky, muddy water as it slowly goes down the drain. Why didn't someone suggest a nice plumbing cleanse before re-opening? Snake these suckers and the water will go down like it once did. The toilets are what really scared us...lol we flushed and thought we would have to call for help (it was both embarrassing and stressful). But it turns out all their washrooms are the same in every room and we just have to hold down the handle for that water to almost "over-board" the toilet bowl and then slowly make its way down.
At first I got mad at my husband for picking this place but after seeing the pictures on travelocity etc. I sympathize with him, there is NO WAY of imaging that this place would be this bad.
The two stars go to the friendly staff, free wifi (and the hot breakfast was okay).
