| - Ok, I'm not sure what the hype is, maybe not all reviewer people know what "local" food tastes like? Maybe the restaurant's having an off day? I don't know because this is our first time here.
With friends who've been here before, but not born and raised in HI.
I had the loco moco, the gravy is not your stereotypical brown gravy, this was a tan gravy that was very bland. Our friends say it wasn't that bad last time, but uh, not good. However, the hamburger patty was good and homemade. One of the kids we were with said he liked the loco moco from Aloha Kitchen better.
The furikake chicken was ok, looks really good but the taste didn't match the look. It was on the sweet side.
Maybe we'll try it again, but there are a lot of other good places in this area to choose from, this wouldn't be a first choice for me.
