| - Sitting across the street from formocha, $3 bubble tea is like a slap in the face to all of the other bubble tea places around yonge and finch that are going for average $5 for a basic. In terms of competitive advantage, I think that would be the main selling point.
It's a nice store with pillows on each seat. They've got kpop playing on the TV, and a washroom that's half used as a storage room. No need to go into the basement though, so that's a plus.
Their drink selection is limited compared to other places, but they've got popular flavors covered. Smoothies, tea, and coffee are also served if you're not looking for milk tea. Topping variety is pretty much limited to tapioca, but they also offer that trendy stuff like the foam on top or a shot of espresso if you really need that jolt of caffeine or espresso is just your thing. Of course, sugar and ice customization is a must.
Ordered an original milk tea with half sugar no ice. Was surprised to see that it comes with tapioca; not sure if it's just how it is, or they consider the "original" only complete with tapioca, or some promo?
Taste was alright. Wasn't noticeably watered down, didn't have a weird taste like some other places that offer cheap bubbletea. Tapioca was alright as well not too chewy but not too soft either. Gets the job done as a bbt place that serves up discount drinks without too much of a hit on quality.
