| - Alright, so scheduling my appointment was a breeze, and I especially liked the fact that I can fill out my information online prior to my appointment, rather than sit there and fill out everything right before I go back. I really appreciated how friendly all the staff was and how attentive and kind they all were. Rebecca was great at the front desk!!
Though, I found this place to be a ripoff. I had a Yelp deal to bring with me, and didn't end up using it. I was there to get a regular cleaning. Dr. Valenzuela was very nice! We had a pre chat before starting the process, going over what my goals were for the appointment, she was great at listening and giving me knowledge on my concerns. I felt comfortable and excited to proceed.
I had my X-rays taken, then waited for the doctor to come back and see me. After a few minutes of watching TV in my seat, she came in and briefly went over my X-rays with me. She told me I am starting to get gingivitis to a heavy level, and that I have 3 cavities. She explained what's called a deep cleaning that they offer and what it does and why I need it. I told her I understand what she's talking about, and I appreciated her going into detail to make sure that I'm aware of what the procedure involves and why it is necessary.
Later, the front desk girl came by and explained the pricing to me. That's where I knew this wasn't right. The price was outrageous!!! Over thousands of dollars for each procedure!! Let alone the fillings I would need to get done. And they told me that it was done by an oral surgeon. Really? I'm 27 with a part time job, wrong person to go fancy with. It wasn't her fault though, and she was knowledgable and explained everything very well, including payment options! I was impressed!!
Anyway, I asked to speak to the doctor once again with what I decided to do. I told her I want to go ahead with a REGULAR cleaning, and I feel the deep cleaning is unnecessary. She told me, "I will not do the regular cleaning on you because the debris that will come off of your teeth will go into your gums and worsen your gingivitis." I said, I refuse to receive a deep cleaning for that amount of money and if she's seriously unwilling to do a regular cleaning on me then I'm done here. She said ok and she respects my opinion.
I then went to my regular dentist, Dr. Gregory Bryan, who did an examination on my teeth and took new X-rays. He told me a regular cleaning is definitely suffice, and I have no cavities at all. He told me my gums are healthy and that I've been doing a great job with hygiene.
Don't let them fool you into paying thousands of dollars for nothing. I'm glad I didn't. Great technology but poor professionalism. At least they had a great attitude, so 2 stars. Won't be back. And I wish the marketing emails would stop.
