  • Monday, July 11 on day 2 of a car trip from LA to Phoenix to visit relatives and then continue on Tuesday via Air to Buffalo- I discovered I had left my reading glasses at home. In a panic I looked for a one day eyeglass store (knowing I'd need to get an eye exam so they would have a prescription). I called LensCrafters - yes they make SOME in one day but couldn't tell me for sure until they had the prescription. I made an appointment in their store with Pearson Eye Group - Dr Lisa Reyes - and she and her staff were wonderful. However, the LensCrafters couldn't make the prescription readers same day because they only had one lens that strength. I then called Visionworks in the same mall and the receptionist said "come over". We walked to the far end of the mall and a very curt sales person (not the receptionist) who was helping another customer came up to me and I said "I just called about getting readers made" - she said "we have one machine down and only one person and we can't do it in one day". So disappointed ....I went to the farthest and last on my list - Eyeglass World. I had never heard of them but called and they said they were pretty sure they could make them in one day. So off we go. I arrived and was greeted promptly by Sumira and she took my prescription to the back and we started my paperwork. In the meantime, Thomas Shank (Tom) - came by and my husband and he started talking about Eyeglass World and how they were planning on expanding in to California. Sumira went to the back and came out and said - they only have one lens that strength - Tom said "Call Mesa - if they have it I'll drive over and get it and we will get the glasses done today." Now that's a good 45 min drive each way and it's now noon - well, Mesa had it and they were going to start making one of the lens and I got a call about 3 hours later and they were done. That is how you do customer service. Sumira and Thomas (area manager) exemplify how you treat your customers. Not only that but the prices knocked my socks off - In a good way - definitely want them to come out our way....
