  • People keep bashing this place, but they fail to realize one thing. This is literally the entry level of the 10 or so Caesars properties in Las Vegas. You can't go to a car dealership and buy the cheapest car and expect it to be the most amazing thing ever. You can't go to the cheapest restaurant on the block and expect top in class quality. The Linq (formerly Imperial Palace formerly The Quad) is similar in that way. It's clean, the refresh they've done is fun and quirky and in my opinion a step up from the generic things many hotels do. The rooms are small, but the quirky updates they've done actually make them pretty comfortable. The hotel used to have balconies which have been removed because of liability I assume. So now it's just a window out onto what used to be a balcony.. kinda an odd thing. They did a nice job with the casino layout. The bars and main walkway has been updated which is nice. The pool area is cool, but be aware it's basically a stage because you're completely surrounded by rooms. The one downside about this hotel is the super annoying key card elevator process. They have the new modern elevator which requires a key card to operate. Most systems work where if you have a card for your room you just swipe it and can use the elevator. The hotel takes it one step further. When you swipe your card, you can ONLY go to your floor. Not a big deal? Well if you're staying with friends on floor 12 and you're on floor 22, your key card won't ket you go to see them. And I added a night to the end of my stay, and I couldn't use the elevator the last day until I went and got the keycard updated at the front desk. There is a balance between freedom to move around and security, and Linq went a bit too far to put up what's really just a false sense of security with the elevator key issue. Aside from that, it's a cool location, right in the middle of the heart of the strip. And it's generally going to be the cheapest South or Central Strip. You can likely find Stratosphere cheaper and still be on the strip, but then you're on a desert island way down there with nothing around. So for the value, The Linq is the way to go. Want to complain about it's shortcomings? Don't be a cheapo and book a higher end hotel.
