| - This review is specifically for the flight from PHX to OGG.
The aircraft was a rickety 757. It's so outdated that the first class section had the wide seats, not the individual "pods" that can lay flat. Entertainment was shown on those ancient, grainy screens perched atop the bulkheads. The entire plane also had no WiFi available.
SERVICE:
In addition to the obsolete flying conditions, the male fight attendant in first class kept no control of the cabin in terms of bathroom usage. Anyone was allowed to come from coach and utilize the restrooms. I don't want to sound like a snob but we paid good money to have a few perks here and there. He was so unprofessional that when people were wanting to use the restroom and his beverage cart was in the aisle, he refused to back it up a few seats so we could pass and instead exclaimed "If you can squeeze through, you can get by". Nice one, sir. After seeing these infractions, my spouse gave him an earful. We knew it wouldn't go further, so social media is the way to voice ourselves.
Anyone who has flown internationally knows that the level of service on those carriers cannot be surpassed by any American carrier, no matter how hard they try. It's just how they're operated, trained and wired. Greedy and uncaring. Don't get me wrong, we've experienced a handful of great employees of American carriers, but they're super far and few between. Kudos to you if you're reading this.
OVERALL:
I'm glad we'll never have to fly out of PHX again! One star because I have to, and another star for the limited amount of outstanding employees American Air employs that we've encountered.
