| - Honestly, I loved the low key atmosphere when the knights were in Fort Mill. The stadium definitely needed a lot of renovation but the environment was more family oriented, the fireworks were better, and less seats were taken by corporate sponsorships. Getting great seats in the new stadium is next to impossible. You have to know way in advance that you can make a game.
Bias aside, BB&T ballpark is beautiful. It was well laid out, lots of food vendors, always clean (better than you'd expect at least), lots of restrooms and several accessible entrances. A good friend helped to plan and prepare the field, and its definitely something to be proud of.
A few months ago, I did receive a call asking quick questions about my opinion of the ballpark, vendors and services. My biggest complaint was about tickets, as mentioned. The gentlemen I spoke with ensured me that it was a key topic for the stadium moving forward to have those seats released in a timely manner if companies did not plan to attend certain games. It seemed like I was not the only person to voice that concern.
I do live firework games and while I understand the difficulty to have fireworks for every Friday home game, in the middle of downtown, late in the evening...they still could do better. The fireworks in Fort Mill, made your chest thump. Big, bright, fun and loud; those shows were fantastic. It was always a great time and just perfect for families to enjoy an evening together.
I'll always be a Knights fan, wherever the stadium is. I just miss some of the nostalgia
