A gorgeous place with amazing decor but falls short on a few fronts. I want to love it but can't. Been in 3 times so far and had a similar experience each time. First one was for a private party that got messed up and ended up merging with the general bar area. Waited about 45 minutes before getting my first drink of the evening. It was busy which I can forgive some wait but it got outta hand. Never gotten anything 'quick' here so time frames could use work. Yes. I know exotic drinks take time. I've been to 20+ tiki bars over the years and this one comes in at one of the slowest but hey maybe it'll quicken up at some point.
Next tiff came from the beverages coming in at the just OK range in flavors and such. The tried drinks were the name sake, dark and stormy's, Mai tais, and the three dots and a dash(it's my home town Chicago tiki bar so I have to have some love for it). Just nothing quite to write home about.
Staff leaves a bit to be desired as well. Not exactly conversational even when the place is dead. Had a few issues getting service at tables during prime times with others at tables getting served.
Again, I want to love this place. I truly do. It's beautiful and creative inside. I'm just hoping the rest of it comes together now. But in the mean time given the option I have to choose the other place based on a number of reasons. Hopefully the 'revamp' they posted about on FB helps out a bit.
