| - We were completely confused when we walked in as we thought this would be an Irish pub i.e.: "Public House". We were immediately disappointed as we were looking forward to fish and chips. However, we drove pretty far to get there so decided to stay.
It was pretty trendy and fancy with high prices and an odd menu.
Our server Sean was Extremely helpful in guiding us and explained the name means 'a house the public of all types can come to'. Ok, but as we looked over the menu, it was odd foods. He explained that their chopped salad is a favorite and worth every bite. My husband is not a salad guy but ordered it based on the server's advice. I ordered the ramen soup and we hoped. Both of these things were on the menu as appetizers.
Food was odd and the salad looked small. However, take one bite and wow!
Wow! Such bold flavors in the soup with a par-boiled egg, bacon, kimchee, and chopped thai chilies in a dark broth. Loved every spoonful and couldn't finish it. So spicy!
The chopped salad was incredible! Smoked salmon, freeze-dried corn, currants, pumpkin seeds...all melded together so that every bite was amazing. It filled up my husband and that is not easy! LOL!
We will go back but will be better dressed.
As an aside, one of the female servers near our table smelled sooo bad! She was blond, thin and looked like a hippie mess. She smelled like pachouli, BO and dirt and every time she came by our area, I had to hold my breath. YUCK!
