| - OVERALL: great Japanese place famous for their okonomiyaki (type of Japanese grilled pancake). Be prepared to wait if you order okonomiyaki because it takes a while to make, especially with a large group. Traditional setting with comfortable seating. A tad pricey, but makes sense.
At Teppanyaki Kyoto, the food is very authentic and the okonomiyaki was definitely an experience. As someone trying it for the first time, I thought it had an interesting flavor, but I liked it, and would be down to try other versions of it. The wait was long (about 40 mins), but it makes sense because of my group of 6 people. I also tried the karaage (Japanese fried chicken) appetizer, which was delicious, but portion size was a bit small.
I would recommend this place to anyone who likes Japanese food, because it's one of the best places I've found in Pittsburgh so far. Also, you have to try the okonomiyaki - it's quite unique, and I haven't found any other place here that makes it.
