My wife, who loves breakfast, tasked me to find a new place for us when we last visited Vegas. This place had been in our bookmarks for some time and we decided to finally try it. It was good but not great. Some of the food was interesting and different, but overall it lacked flavor and seasoning.
We had the shrimp and grits: bland. The shrimp were way over cooked and tough. The grits were soupy and not much flavor. The bacon was a limp
Mess and it was on the bottom of the plate and would have been better chopped up on top IMO.
The egg and black bean tostada: just ok. Would not order it again. Large portion for sure, but bland. A bit soupy.
The side of smoked bacon was very good. Thick but and not too crisp.
The English muffin was nice, but a bit bland. It was made from scratch which was nice. It just needed some more salt in the dough.
The country fried steak: really wanted this to be good but the meat was just too tough. It needs to be tenderized more and maybe a tad thinner. It had a great crisp breading, but just was like shoe leather in the mouth. Too bad.
What looked really good was the scratch made biscuits with strawberry compote. We wish we had tried this.
The coffee was OUTSTANDING. No bitterness and just so good.
Service was 5/5. Food was 3.5/5 for an overall score of 4/5. We probably won't be back as there are so many other places to try in Vegas. We would come back just for the coffee though. :)
