After driving by this massive fluorescent monolith 100s of times and continually bantering with a passenger who may have been at least age appropriate about how "we should check that place out", I happened to be passing alone this past weekend an thought, "Why not? I'm feeling particularly voyeuristic tonight."
I have to say, I was impressed with the layout and staff. I was greeted with courtesy and got in free as it was still pretty early, so I was well on my way. I found a seat at the back bar and ordered a drink, which was reasonably priced. On my way to the ATM (just in case I needed to tip my bartender, of course), I heard a shout from a former colleague and his friend. Now it was fun time as we had a table of collaborating enthusiasts.
Said former colleague also happens to be quite regular, knowing some of the contract staff on a personal basis. This acquaintance merited a personal tour of the facilities, which was also quite impressive. Larry has his own skybox. I have a new item on my bucket list...hang out with Larry in his private skybox!
Overall, this was a fun place to spend a few hours of what only can be considered normal evening activities in Las Vegas. Good times...I'm sure I'll be back.
