Not a bad place.
1. Do not, under any circumstance order the oysters on the half shell. This is not an oyster house. I tried to explain this to my friend. If the menu is 5 pages long and there's no other oyster dish on the menu and nobody is ordering oysters, they probably aren't that fresh. the 12 oysters came out with about 40 chunks of lime over the top. Served on a bed of ice but not cold. Terrible, bad. I sent them back, they weren't comped. I ate one and later in the evening, I suffered for it.
On the good side. Friendly service. Cold beers, Decent prices. The bacon wrapped, shrimped stuffed jalapenos were so good. Stick with those. I think they are called Toridos.
Fresh guac is was solid.
It's right down the street from our new house. I must say, there are many things I miss about the Biltmore / Arcadia area but access to good food and local businesses is first on the list. Mesa needs to step up its restaurant and bar game. This and the Outback are the only options within walking distance.
