I wish I could say that Rosen's Cinnamon Buns is the best cinnamon bun I've ever eaten, but sadly it just wasn't that special.
We arrived around 12:30 on a Saturday and the place was slightly busy. We quickly ordered a cinnamon bun each and took a seat at the shop's lone bench.
It's dry, is the real problem. It's got a nice, very subtle cinnamon flavor but it's just so subdued. The pastry itself is also fine yet not as soft or fresh-tasting as I might've hoped. The big problem here, though, is the disappointing lack of a cream cheese frosting. It was so sparingly applied it was basically non-existent.
I can see these cinnamon buns working as a coffee cake or something like that, but they're just not satisfying as a dessert on its own.
