Went there with another couple.
Right off the bat, our waiter told us that the service is lousy but the food is good, which is why people keep coming back. We appreciate honesty.
I had the veal carolina, which was among the best Italian I've ever had. My wife had baked ravioli, which she thought was just alright. The other couple we were with liked their food as well, one having a different veal dish and the other the sea bass.
The service really wasn't all that lousy but it definitely was sub par (we waited for the check for a while). This is probably because our waiter was an ex-football player who we're sure was concussed one too many times. Another waiter (we're assuming the owner) saw to our table as well and talked to us how the other waiter isn't going anywhere. It's good to see people taking care of people.
Though the service wasn't the quickest, our drinks were always full and the waiters are happy to chit chat. Very personable and quite the characters.
I'd be happy to go back and try some more of their food. It's a bit pricier than places not in Scottsdale but I've had worse food that was more expensive (like Rustler's Roost).
