  • I have always been impressed with Tempe Marketplace having lived here long enough to know what used to be in the area. Such an improvement and it really filled a need for shopping/eating/entertainment which was lacking in the ASU area. Since it was built, I've been a regular, but usually just for quick in-and-out trips to Target, Michael's, World Market, Barnes and Noble, or a movie at Harkins, but more recently my wife and I have parked and walked around the area between Barnes and Harkins and really enjoyed it in a new way. I love many of the shops and eateries along that stretch. There are nice little seating areas, a fountain for kids, etc. For the holidays they put up a large tree and even had a snow machine kicking out fake snow which was a treat for both kids and adults. It really made it feel like the Christmas season, IMHO. We have seen several great musical acts on the stage by Dave and Busters, including the Dickens Carolers and Vintage Wednesday. As an Ingress player, I also really like this location because there are a couple of missions and plenty of portals. Adds to the relaxing walk around the shops to me.
