I was at Sage Creek for 31 days. I tried to leave 3 times but was talked out of it each time. I have no family in the state to be my advocate. I was in severe pain and quite often felt I was in a torture chamber because my pain pills were very often more than 1 1/2 hour late. They messed up on my prescription for 48 hours one time and in the time period I should have 12 pills, I think I got 3.
Some of the aides wiped me wrong(I kept complaining to the social worker) and I got a urinary infection. They took a specimen early Sat morning and by Sunday evening, they still had not sent it.
The first time they change my bandage on my leg, there was a puddle of blood about 20 inch round, my leg was about 3-4 time it's normal size and my foot looked like a balloon. The Occupational therapy was there and kept pushing me to get up and exercise. I had to get in a BIG fight with him and said I was not doing anything until the doctor said it was okay with that leg. Turns out I had a blood clot. He would have put my life in danger for me to exercise before I had medicine.
One of the physical therapy told me I was going to get another blood clot if I didn't (we had not even started yet) work harder. He work my knee so hard, it tore open about 4 inches of my incision. I was on medicine by then and it was not possible for me to get another blood clot. I was not aware of this and he scared me.
The other therapies are great and there are some good nurses and aides, but it was over shadowed by the unnecessary pain I was in because of not getting my pills on time.
They did my laundry and lost some of my clothes. There are still 2 pieces lost and they are not returning my phone calls any more. I guess I have to go to small claims court.
