I saw my first Cirque du Soleil performance in Las Vegas over a decade ago, and I enjoyed the show. I saw a second performance a few years later, and it was entertaining, but a bit of a yawn. And by the time I saw my third performance, I was bored out of my mind.
But Zumanity has reinvigorated the Cirque du Soleil franchise in my eyes. This show is HOT!!! I've seen contortionists before, but a beautiful, nude contortionist performing on the edge of a human-sized fishbowl? I've watched trapeze acts before, but not performed by schoolgirls. The Fosse style dance performed between a man and a TV was downright sexy; the two men cage fighting into a make-out session was (albeit predictable) equally hot. And for the first time in a Cirque performance, I thought the clowns were hilarious.
This show is perfect to see with a romantic interest; the love seats down near the front are an especially nice touch. After Zumanity and a couple martinis, it's real easy to let your inhibitions go.
