This is a small Cafe that is tucked inside the Ellis Island Casino which is a bit off-strip so is mainly patronized by locals. It's most famous offering is a steak and eggs special for $5.99 available between 11 pm. and 11 am. which surprisingly I've never had it in all my visits here as I've generally come during peak dinner hours. I've always found them to be packed and have had to wait about 40 minutes before getting a table. A good thing is that they give you a token that lights up and beeps when your table is ready so you can roam around the casino and play rather than hang around waiting at the Café. Over a couple of visits I've tried a bunch of their house specials. During my first visit I got a King Cut Prime Rib ($13.99) and asked for it to be done medium, but what I got was too rare for my taste. The cut of beef also had a lot of fat so I did not like this very much. During subsequent visits I've tried their Chicken Fried Steak ($8.99) which was pretty good but the gravy was a let down, the Wild Alaskan Salmon ($11.99) which was cooked nice and juicy and the NY Stake and Fried Shrimp ($11.99) which was cooked to a perfect medium. Their service is a bit slow right from taking your order to clearing your check but it is bearable. Last word of advise would be to add a large glass of one of their in house brewed beers (Amber Ale - European style beer, Hefe Weiss - wheat beer, Dark Larger - Stout, Light - Regular beer and IPA - hoppy bitterness) to any entree for $2.25. Ellis Island Cafe is a reasonably good place to get a cheap yet decent meal which is what keeps getting us back, whenever we are visiting Vegas.
