Never again! Thought I'd save a few $$ while vacationing in Phoenix and use Thrifty / Dollar Rental car. (Same Company)
The on line booking was the inly smooth part. After getting our contract we were sent down to the garage to get our car. There were 50 + people standing around in the garage like us, with luggage and thoughts of finally getting this vacation going! But no...
When I did find one of 3 company reps wandering around the garage, she told me I needed to get my name on her clipboard. We were all "waiting for cars" and now my name was at the bottom of her clipboard list. WHAT? You're in the car rental business, where are your cars? Only explanation I got was that the cars were being cleaned and brought to us. So, one or two cars at a time would be driven around to a waiting crowd of people inside the garage. A name would be called off the list and the customer jumps into a still dripping wet rental car.
Are you serious? Never seen anything like it. Why no cars? Is there not enough staff to service these cars? Doesn't matter now, I will pay Hertz a little more, collect my reward points and experience much better customer service!
