A stylish restaurant serving a mash-up of Mexican, Spanish and French inspired food in the heart of old town Scottsdale.
We arrived a few minutes early for our six pm reservation and even though they had a number of tables open, walk-ins were being told 1 hour plus for a wait (BE SURE TO make reservations). It's a pretty big place, long and narrow with a small patio outside in the front and another in the back.
Service here was very strong with water arriving at the table shortly after we were seated and our personable waiter, Greg, doing a nice job describing the menu and making recommendations. Glasses were constantly filled throughout the evening and Greg was there just when we needed additional drinks.
Drinks here are made with fresh squeezed juices and are lively and fresh. I enjoyed the blood orange margarita and my wife the mission Margarita.
We got the special guacamole-prepared table-side (fresh and tasty) which can be customized to your particular tastes by you server. It came with a big bowl of thin and crispy chips and some smoky salsa.
For dinner, we decided on the slow roasted pork shoulder tacos for two ($34). You get a baseball-sized hunk of pork that's been simmering in a sweet pineapple habanero sauce along with 10 small tortillas and some chopped onion, cilantro and cheese. This was more than we could finish and SO GOOD.
The only hiccup was that our dinner arrived while our server was just getting started with the guacamole but he wisely sent it back to the kitchen so we wouldn't feel rushed.
All in all a nice setting, good food and wonderful service.
Highly recommended
