We went in at 1pm on Monday, which is a slow day for afternoon tea - only two other tables were seated, which meant that we had a good amount of attention from our server. The server was courteous and easy-going; not pretentious in any way. The selection of tea was impressive, and the pot was large, so the four of us could taste each others' tea without the need for constant water refill. And I had no trouble getting the server to refill the pot when I needed it. The food was nice: scones were the best, sandwiches were so-so, and the desert were small but rich. The scones and sandwiches were filling enough for me, so I had the desert to-go. They were packed in a large container with a fancy retail bag - probably unnecessary, but I appreciated the no-fuss attitude of our server. For $38 it was an expensive tea experience, but we chatted for two hours in a comfortable room, so I think it was worth it.
