Abide is exactly what I was looking for in a yoga studio. It's a laid back place, where music/laughing/smiling is allowed and no one takes themselves seriously, but classes are both restorative and challenging. That's not to say that you can't check out here and clear your mind -- you can, and there's a reflection time at the beginning and end of class. There are a lot of classes to choose from based on your experience level, instructors modify for all levels, and there's even a Monday Abide Rocks class where you flow to an entire album. (There's a range of artists -- check out their Facebook page where more info is posted.) This is not the type of yoga studio where the room is 1,000 degrees and you lift weights while in warrior pose. (Not to say there's not a place for that.) The instructors are all great, and the owner, Hope, is an absolute ray of sunshine. The space is small and cozy, and tea is offered before every class. Classes are also affordable. Also an important note -- Hope is a big "Big Lebowski" fan -- the studio and class names are inspired by the relaxed vibe of The Dude.
