| - The whole Whole Foods franchise has sorta turned into a monster. When I didn't know any better, I thought it was just a local upscale grocery store. it wasn't until I started hearing about it on e-talk and such, that I realized it was a chain. And a successful one at that!
What I like best about Whole Foods is their salad bar, hot/cold section and bakery. By far the freshest and bestest I've ever experienced. I will admit that I've never walked down any of their grocery aisles or the produce section, it's just a little too expensive for my taste. I'm fine with my PC brand crackers and no name marshmallows thank you very much.
If you're at Whole Foods you have to try their salads at their deli/salad counter. They used to make (though I haven't seen in a while), Smoked Mozzarella salad, it was creamy and had large chunks of smoked mozza! I like a lot of their grain salads, and I recently ventured out and tried their veggie turkey leg (really good, though it would have been better warmed up), and their "chickn" (mock) salad, also pretty good. I don't find their salads to be overly pricey, it seems reasonable, but I don't usually pay attention to the per 100g price tag...
Another thing that is good is their breads. I'm a suck for any cheese bread, and their cheese bread here is a little sweet and just tasty (but not so tasty the day after, so best to toast).
Even if you don't buy anything, just walk into the store and check out some of the cool things that they have... Like homemade marshmallows! Tried and tested, and I say stick to the packaged variety!
