  • Bountiful Baskets is a cross between a cult and a pyramid scheme. For 10 years they were a marketing arm of Kodiak Produce, but when Kodiak suddenly dropped them in July of 2016, the two founders decided to re-do the coop despite having no suppliers or distributors. I suspect it's because BB doesn't give refunds for spoiled and moldy produce, only credits, and it's in the interests of the founders to string people along with the belief that credits can someday be redeemed. The ordering system for baskets is baroque, the "co-op" organizers and Facebook page managers are rude and obnoxious, and the produce these days can be purchased more cheaply at the supermarket and with more choice. It's a pyramid scheme of "credits" just waiting to crash, so caveat emptor!
