  • Overall this is a nice hotel, but we were staying here for our wedding anniversary and expecting a nice little staycation. We checked in and talked to the desk about how we were there for our anniversary because we stayed at a Kimpton during our honeymoon and we were excited to come back to one of their hotels. But then everything from there on went downhill. We called down to see if we could get a brush and a lint roller because I'm an idiot and forgot my brush at home-- and they brought up the lint roller after about 30 minutes, so we called back realizing they forgot our brush, 45 minutes later we finally got our brush and we had been trying to get ready because we had to leave for a show. Which all in all is my fault for not bringing a brush, but it sucked that they brought up the thing I didn't need as much because if they had just brought up the brush (which we made clear was the thing we needed more to the front desk when we called) I wouldn't have called back for the lint roller. Next, we went to go check out the restaurant and bar Lustre. Not the hotels fault, but it just wasn't our vibe-- so we ordered food to-go. The bartender seemed annoyed to serve us the whole time, which whatever, but then we got the food and the flatbread came in a pizza box probably at least 4x the size of the actually flatbread inside it. We also ordered some chips & guac which were $3 more than it said in the menu in our room(which whatever, they were pretty good). We also got an order of portobello tacos, which in my opinion, were disgusting! They were supposed to come with a side of kettle chips which we did not get-- but we didn't realize until we got to the room. Fine, we ate them and didn't say anything. We didn't need them. The bed was a big let down. It was super uncomfortable throughout our entire stay my husband and I woke up with back pain every single day. Everyone has a different bed preference, so maybe to some people it was wonderful... but I could barely walk on the last day. Also, 3 separate times housekeeping opened the door and then knocked afterwards. We were sleeping almost every time. Not that we needed anything, but it would have been a nice touch for them to send us up something for our anniversary after all they do drinks in the lobby... It could have redeemed this review for me because overall it was a fine hotel. The room was pretty, but not up to my Kimpton's standards. I wish the room had more character to it. I did though, love the mini bar. It had so many goodies. It was expensive, which is to be expected, so we didn't buy anything... but it had way more variety than I've ever seen. I also love that Kimpton's have the leopard robes and yoga mats in every room, and the social hours. Lastly, at checkout the woman didn't ask us about our stay. Or really even talk to us much besides where we wanted our receipt. Not a word even about the valet, so we walked over to the $30 a night valet attendant and let them know we were ready to get our car. Upon our car's arrival, we notice that my husband's car is COVERED in bird crap. They must have parked it on the roof, or something... Which again, not sure if they could have really don't anything about this, but it really captured the perfect image to end this weekend.
